Abstract: This study aimed to extrapolate contemporary Arab and foreign orientations in educational research, and to identify the theoretical and applied frameworks for the design of the proposed map of educational research in the light of these orientations. This descriptive study relied on documentary analysis, relations tree technique, in addition to pilot study applied to 67 faculty members from different Arab universities and educational departments to ask them whether their departments have research maps, and to suggest what they see as necessary research priorities. . After extrapolating the research literature concerned with contemporary orientations related to the topics and methodologies of educational research at the Arab and international levels, and after arranging the research topics proposed by the pilot study sample, the researcher classified these priorities into 9 main fields and 93 sub-fields, according to the topics of education and not according to specializations. To increase the reliability of the proposed map, it was judged by 13 experts. After approval, thestakeholders from this map.
